TRAKS International USA-ASIA joins with exchange host organizations in the USA to offer a Summer Work and Travel Program for Thai students who are studying at the university level. Here is an opportunity for you to learn about American culture and business practices. Our quality cultural exchange experience ensures that you will have the most successful and memorable summer ever by providing excellent individualized service and ensuring that you are matched with a job or camp position which is appropriate to your skills and experiences. Here is an amazing opportunity to live and work in the United States, make lifelong friends and valuable contacts while building your resume and gaining valuable work experience. At the end of your work placement, you can travel around the country for up to four weeks.
Characteristics of the Program
The University Work and Travel Program allow students who attend the program to learn American culture and lifestyle while working in the US. According to the American law, all students who take part in the program will be allowed to work legally in many different kinds of jobs during summer vacation in the US. TRAKS International Asia cooperates with host organizations in the US to select various kinds of jobs suitable for Thai students who join the program. The jobs available include the following possibilities: amusement park attendant; banquet server; clerical; cook; dishwasher; fast food server; front desk clerk; game/ride attendant; host/hostess; housekeeper; laundry; lifeguard; park services; parking attendant; porter; recreation instructor; sales; security guard; tour guide and waiter/waitress and more.
Objectives of the Program
- Present Thai students with a cultural learning opportunity during their summer vacation.
- Develop skills and knowledge to enhance career and develop resume.
- Provide a complete immersion in the culture, lifestyle and values of American people and promote international understanding.
- Offer experiences that encourage increased flexibility, responsibility, independence while improving problem-solving and interpersonal communication skills.
- Opportunity to apply and use the English language with American people.
Applicant Qualifications
- Thai nationality
- Age between 18 – 26 years old
- GPA. 2.50 or above
- Current student status only. Holders of Bachelor or Master Degrees, and those in their last year of class are not eligible
- Speak English fluently and have the ability to interact and communicate well with others
- Capable of living and working with other people from different cultures
- Possess a positive attitude and the ability to work hard
Program Fees
Applicant's Fee:
45,000 baht which includes:
- 2,000 baht deposit (non-refundable)
- Process in issuing DS-2019 ($250)
- International Medical Insurance
- Orientation prior to traveling
- SEVIS fee
- Confirmation of employment in the US
- ISIC Card fee
- PIN fee and VISA interview reservation (in case applicants cannot make it, they must pay and organize by themselves)
- VISA fee
The following expenses are not included in the program:
- Round trip air ticket
- Airport tax
- Personal expenses, (e.g. telephone, meals, accommodation during working in the U.S. and etc.)
Duration of the Program
2 – 4 months (8 – 16 weeks)
Departure
- During March of every year for applicants who are studying in a Thai University.
- During June of every year for applicants who are studying in an International University.

- Application Form
- 1 Recent Photo (1” x 1.5”)
- Copy of Applicant’s Transcript
- Copy of ID Card or Passport
- Application Fee: 350 baht
Process of Joining the Program
- Submit Application
- Take Michigan Test
- Attend interview by a representative of the US company
- Announcement of accepted applicants
- Request DS-2019
- Apply for PIN in order to receive a reservation date for ViSA interview
- Reserve air ticket Orientation
- Receive VISA
- Departure
