TRAKS International USA–ASIA specializes in offering a remarkable opportunity to live and work overseas through teach abroad programs and English summer camps. Our mission is to foster cultural exchange by providing teaching and service opportunities that span geographical borders while expanding personal ones.
TRAKS invites native English speakers to experience one of the most beautiful, welcoming and culturally rich countries in South East Asia---Thailand. Thailand is a thrilling blend of traditional and modern cultures and diverse landscapes that include: tropical white-sand beaches, clear blue seawaters, lush jungles, ancient ruins and mountainous hill tribe country. We welcome you to experience for yourself the Thai’s warm hospitality and “mai pen rai” philosophy of “no worries.”
Teaching English abroad is a fantastic way to travel while immersing yourself deeply in a new culture. Not only will you make discoveries about the country you are in, but you will be astonished at how much this experience teaches you about yourself! Most importantly, it provides an easy way for you to meet new friends, have fun and make a positive difference in the lives of others.
TRAKS offers five and ten-month paid teaching commitments that start two times each year: October and May. Participants are provided a an intense orientation program that begins in Bangkok and ends with a relaxing trip outside Bangkok. The orientation provides introduction to the language, advice about Thai culture, along with useful tools and handouts for teaching, networking opportunities and much more. After orientation, participants leave for their assigned school to begin their new life living and working in a Thai community.
You will find that teaching conversational English is very easy. You can be successful and have fun at it even if you are not a teacher or have never taught before! Thai school children already have a good grasp on the English language and are simply in need of opportunities to practice these skills and gain more confidence. The most important thing you can do is to encourage them to use their English skills with imaginative and entertaining approaches in the classroom. You can structure your lessons to include singing songs, playing games and other creative ways to make learning English fun. You will find Thai students to be enthusiastic and willing pupils and that makes your job even easier and more enjoyable! You will also discover how interested everyone is in meeting and talking with you. This opens the door for real cultural exchange as you share your traditions, hobbies, skills and individuality with others whose lives are very different than yours. It becomes a great learning exchange for everyone.
Teaching placements are usually in primary or secondary schools in both cities and rural communities of Thailand. TRAKS International offers its participants a choice as to what region of the country they would like to live in and what size and type of school they would like to teach at. Clean, private accommodations, medical insurance, competitive salary, in-country support, visa assistance and guaranteed school placement are provided.
